How to Apply
- 1.Prepare: Ensure both the board surface and the PVC/acrylic sheet or strip are clean, dry, and dust-free.
- 2.Apply: Spread Fevicol Pro Bond evenly on both surfaces to be joined.
- 3.Wait for tack: Allow the adhesive to reach the right tack level as per pack instructions before joining, for the best bond on non-porous PVC/acrylic surfaces.
- 4.Press: Join the surfaces and press firmly — for edge-banding, run firm, even pressure along the full length of the strip.
- 5.Cure: Bond strength develops in 4-6 hours; allow 24 hours at room temperature for full strength before heavy handling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy Fevicol Probond in Hyderabad?
EightxFour supplies Fevicol Probond across Hyderabad — request a quote and we'll confirm current availability and delivery timeline against your quantity. Send your list or BOQ for a priced quote; first response in under 15 minutes during business hours.
How much does Fevicol Probond cost in Hyderabad?
Fevicol Probond is currently ₹214.56 – ₹7057.84/pack, excl. GST. Rates move with the market — request a quote for today's price on your quantity; project quantities are priced as one order.
Can I use Fevicol SH instead of Pro Bond for PVC sheet?
No — Fevicol SH is formulated for wood-to-wood bonding and won't grip non-porous PVC or acrylic reliably. Pro Bond is purpose-built for these surfaces.
Do I need an edge-banding machine to use Pro Bond?
No — one of Pro Bond's key strengths is enabling manual PVC edge-banding, so small workshops can apply PVC strips without investing in machinery.
How long until the bonded panel can be handled normally?
Bond strength develops within 4-6 hours, with full strength reached at 24 hours at room temperature — avoid heavy handling before that.
Is Fevicol Pro Bond heat resistant?
Yes, it offers heat and moisture resistance suited to kitchen and wardrobe environments, though for extreme heat exposure near hobs, dedicated heat-resistant adhesives may be preferable.
What pack size should a small carpentry workshop start with?
500 g or 1 kg is ideal for testing and small jobs; 5 kg and 10 kg packs suit regular PVC/acrylic lamination work.
What is Fevicol Pro Bond's shelf life and how should it be stored?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight with the lid tightly sealed between uses. As with other Fevicol wood-based adhesives, aim to use it within roughly 2 years of manufacture, and check the batch date on the pack.
Is Fevicol Pro Bond GreenPro certified — what does that mean for my project?
Yes, it's GreenPro certified, meaning it meets recognised sustainability and low-emission criteria — useful if you're marketing a project as eco-conscious or need to meet green-building material requirements.
Why isn't my PVC edge-banding strip sticking properly?
The most common causes are applying the adhesive too thick or too thin, not allowing it to reach the right tack before joining, dust or grease on the board edge, or insufficient pressure while pressing the strip down. Following the wait-for-tack step closely resolves most issues.
Can Pro Bond be used on wood-to-wood joints as well?
It's formulated and best suited for PVC and acrylic lamination. For standard wood-to-wood bonding, Fevicol SH or HiPer will give a stronger, more reliable result and is more cost-effective for that purpose.
Does Fevicol Pro Bond leave a visible glue line?
It dries clear, so with even application and proper pressing, the glue line is minimal and unobtrusive under PVC sheet or edge-banding strips.
Is Fevicol Pro Bond safe for kitchen use around food-prep areas?
It's designed for structural bonding within kitchen shutters and wardrobes (i.e., inside the panel construction), not as a food-contact surface. Once fully cured and sealed under the PVC/laminate finish, it poses no different handling concern than the panel itself.
What's the difference between Pro Bond and Fevicol Marine for a kitchen unit?
They solve different problems: Pro Bond bonds the PVC/acrylic finish to the board, while Marine is about waterproofing wood-to-wood joints. A kitchen unit with a PVC shutter in a wet-prone base area might use Pro Bond for the finish and Marine for the carcass joinery.
What thicknesses does Fevicol Probond come in?
Fevicol Probond is available in 20 kg, 10 kg, 5 kg, 1 kg, 500 gm.
