Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy Fevicol SH in Hyderabad?
EightxFour supplies Fevicol SH across Hyderabad — request a quote and we'll confirm current availability and delivery timeline against your quantity. Send your list or BOQ for a priced quote; first response in under 15 minutes during business hours.
How much does Fevicol SH cost in Hyderabad?
Fevicol SH is currently ₹27.52 – ₹11853.73/pack, excl. GST. Rates move with the market — request a quote for today's price on your quantity; project quantities are priced as one order.
Is Fevicol SH waterproof?
No. Fevicol SH is MR (Moisture Resistant) grade, suited to dry interior applications. For areas exposed to standing water or high humidity — kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor furniture — choose Fevicol Marine instead.
How long before I can use the bonded piece?
The joint can typically be unclamped after 2-3 hours, but for maximum strength, leave it under pressure for a full 24 hours before putting it under load.
Can Fevicol SH bond laminate to plywood?
Yes — it's widely used for pasting laminates and veneers onto plywood, MDF, and particle board for furniture and interior work.
What surfaces should I avoid using it on?
Fevicol SH is designed for wood-to-wood and wood-based panel bonding. It is not intended for PVC, acrylic sheet, metal, glass, or stone — for PVC/acrylic lamination, use Fevicol Pro Bond instead.
Which pack size is right for me?
Small packs (50 g-500 g) suit home repairs and small craft projects; 1-5 kg suits individual carpenters; 10 kg and above are built for workshops and bulk furniture production.
What is the shelf life of Fevicol SH, and how should I store it?
Like most Pidilite wood adhesives, Fevicol SH keeps well for around 2 years from manufacture when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the container tightly sealed between uses. Always check the batch/manufacturing date on the pack, since shelf life can vary slightly by batch.
Can Fevicol SH be diluted with water?
A small amount of clean water (a few percent) can be added if the adhesive has thickened slightly, to bring it back to a workable consistency. Avoid over-diluting, as this weakens bond strength — for most jobs, use it straight from the pack.
Is Fevicol SH safe to use indoors?
Yes — it's solvent-free, non-flammable, and virtually odour-free, making it safe for regular indoor workshop use. As with any adhesive, avoid prolonged skin contact and wash hands after use; if it contacts eyes, flush with water.
How do I clean up excess or dried Fevicol SH?
Wipe excess adhesive with a damp cloth while it's still wet. Once dried, it can usually be gently scraped or sanded off; avoid harsh solvents on finished wood surfaces.
Can I paint or polish over a Fevicol SH joint?
Yes, once fully cured, the joint can be sanded flush and finished normally — just ensure all excess glue is cleaned off the surface before applying paint, polish, or laminate, as dried adhesive residue can affect finish absorption.
Why did my Fevicol SH joint fail?
Most joint failures come down to insufficient clamping time, applying too thin or too thick a layer, bonding dusty/oily surfaces, or exposing an MR-grade joint to sustained moisture. Following the prep, apply, and clamp steps closely resolves the vast majority of issues.
Does temperature affect how Fevicol SH performs?
Very cold conditions can slow curing, while very hot, dry conditions can cause the adhesive to skin over too quickly before you've joined the surfaces. Room temperature (roughly 20-30°C) gives the most predictable results.
Fevicol SH vs Fevicol HiPer — which should I pick for laminate work?
For standard laminates and everyday joinery, SH is the economical, reliable choice. If you're working with premium, thick laminates (1 mm+) or need faster handling strength to speed up production, HiPer is the better fit.
What thicknesses does Fevicol SH come in?
Fevicol SH is available in 60 kg, 50 kg, 30 kg, 20 kg, 10 kg, 5 kg, 2 kg, 1 kg, 500 gm, 250 gm, 125 gm, 50 gm.
